Brainerd MN Pet Resources & Information
So today is the big day. You’re on your way to the local animal shelter to adopt a new kitten. Congratulations! It’s a big responsibility, but you should be happy to know that the Powers of the Universe are about to stamp your soul with a golden star that will ensure your entry into heaven, or at least guarantee that you won’t be reborn as a rat. You’ve probably given some thought to what kind of kitten you want: Tuxedo or Calico, male or female, large breed or small. But have you considered adopting an adult cat? You may find that there are many more adult cats waiting for homes than kittens. Take a minute to think about it. You may be glad you did.
Several times a month HART receives calls about animal neglect and or cruelty from concerned citizens. I would like to explain how these calls are handled by HART staff.
First of all HART does not have a humane investigator. Insurance liability is a major issue when it comes to investigations and it is just too costly to carry this type of insurance. For this reason HART does not go out to investigate calls.
We are very sorry you have lost your pet.
Remember an ad with a clear photo will help someone recognize your pet should they see him/her in the future! These can be hung up at grocery stores, pet stores and other local businesses.
Before allowing pets outside please follow these safety tips.
