Young at HART (YAH):
PAST AND" WANT TO BE" YOUNG AT HARTERS
Book your place now to participate in our Safari North Adventure this
season at our newly renovated shelter. Our education room has been
completely redone, and we are planning a special year of Young at HART
to celebrate our grand re-opening.
Our first regular meeting, the first Saturday of October, we will take a
field trip to Safari North and visit animals from six continents. Each
subsequent first Saturday of the month, we will focus our attention on
specific animals we met at the zoo. Every class, after the field trip
,we will also visit the HART animals, do a craft, enjoy a snack, and, if
time permits, read a related story.
Since the field trip occurs on our first regular meeting, I am requiring
all children registering for Young at HART attend a one hour orientation
on Saturday, September 27, at 10:00 a.m., our regular meeting time. At
the orientation we will get to know one another, pay registration and
field trip fees, and make specific plans for the field trip on the
following Saturday. If you are still riding in a car seat, your parent
will be asked to drive you to the zoo and help chaperone. The only
exception to this is if your parent can make arrangements with another
parent to do this.
Registration cost for Young at HART remains the same as last year:
$25.00 for one child; $40.00 for two children; and $50.00 for three or
more children. In addition each child will be required to pay for zoo
admittance at the reduced rate of $6.00. Also chaperones/parents will
enjoy this same admittance fee.
Registration forms as well as a sheet of shelter guidelines will be
available on-line and at the shelter beginning August 1. Students
to attend the orientation session will not be allowed to go on the field
Due to our rising costs for education, we are again unable to offer
scholarships for Young at HART.
