SHELTER DOG SHUFFLE A SUCCESS!!

A great time was had by all at the 2nd annual Shelter Dog Shuffle at Norway Ridge on June 26th. The SKATYRS band had the crowd rocking the tent and over $12,000.00 was raised for the care of the animals at H.A.R.T. Some of the happiest people there were the winners of the raffle prizes: Robin Hagland took home the Boat, Motor, and Trailer; Shelly Johnson won the Las Vegas trip; Sherri Larson won the Custom Made Gun Cabinet; Shannon Hahn is the winner of the TORO Lawn Care Package; and Paula Cotten won the Sony Blu-Ray DVD Player. Congratulations to all, and thank you for being a part of this benefit for the animals. After a month of sunny warm days, we were disappointed when we heard the forecast for cold and wind on May 1, 2010. It was the fifteenth annual Hoofin' it for HART companion walk, and we needed all the support we could muster up.

Saturday May 1st arrived and it was cold and windy, but soon the parking lot was filled with supporters and their dogs. Dogs came in strollers, bags and tucked inside sweatshirts to keep warm. It was going to be a great day after all.

The king and queen contest, as well as the hot dog stand was a hit again this year. Thanks, Jan and Mary and all your helpers.
The walk raised about $17,000 and had about 125 walkers and their dogs.
